Principal’s Welcome

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome from the Principal Kevin Sheehy

The staff and I would like to extend a very special welcome to you and your family to St John Bosco College and we very much look forward to working with you collaboratively in 2024 and the years ahead.

I feel very privileged and honoured to be the principal of this exciting twenty first century Pre-K-12 Catholic College in Piara Waters, whose College motto is “JOY IN LEARNING” The vision for our College is to create a flourishing environment in which every student can thrive in a Catholic learning community; where development of the whole person is of utmost importance. Opportunities are created to promote inquiry, reflection and feedback, continuous learning and growth and best educational teacher practice. The mission of staff is to nurture students so that they can become successful learners, confident, creative, and active informed citizens, who are able to contribute positively to society.

Students need to learn to function within a rapidly changing society, in a world dominated by multimedia. Twenty first century teaching and learning incorporates higher order critical thinking and creativity to problem-solve with real life world situations using innovation, shared collaboration and the global digital world.

In 2024, we have more than 1200 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 11, as well as an OSHC facility and an Aboriginal Families as First Educators Playgroup. Over time, we will grow to a Pre-K-12 College. Our innovative building design has a focus on shared, flexible learning spaces which support best practice, 21st century teaching and learning methods. Our outstanding facilities include an Early Learning Centre, Junior Primary and Upper Primary studios, grass play areas, junior and senior ovals, soccer and hockey pitch and multi-purpose hard court play areas, enclosed Assembly Space, library, Science Learning Centre, a two-storey Arts and Technology Learning Centre, Middle Learning Centre, dedicated Administration and ample parking. The construction of the College Gymnasium and a two-storey Senior Learning Centre will be finished in February.

“JOY IN LEARNING”

The community feel at St John Bosco College is truly unique. In nine short years our creative staff, talented students and committed parents have combined their talents to create a truly unique learning community. I invite you and your family to visit us and experience what “Joy in Learning” looks like for yourself, at St John Bosco College.

Yours in Christ
